Baptism

“Be Opened” at Hephatha Lutheran Church.

Scheduling a Baptism

The Scriptures say,
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned”
(Mark 16:16).

Hephatha further believes that people have a sinful nature from birth (Psalm 51:5, Ephesians 2:3), that Christ commanded all people to be baptized (Matthew 28:19), and that Christ specially invited children to come to Him (Luke 18:15-17). Therefore, we believe, teach, and practice infant baptism.

We ask that you meet with our pastor before a baptism is scheduled. During this time together, you’ll learn the importance of this sacrament and why Jesus was baptized and calls us into a life of discipleship beginning with baptism.
